On October 1st 2024, the Web3 Tales conference returned to Zagreb (Croatia) for its second edition, drawing over 500 attendees, including industry leaders, builders, and those new to the space. Organized by Alice in Blockchains, a 100% female-led nonprofit committed to increasing female participation in fintech and blockchain, the event was themed "DeFi DeTangled", aiming to demystify the complexities of DeFi and showcase its transformative potential in the financial sector and beyond.
Held at Lauba, the House for People and Art, the conference provided a dynamic setting where business, art, and technology converged. Recognizing the event's mission and potential, Thrilld Labs partnered with the organizers to enhance the networking experience.
Meaningful networking throughout a diverse ánd local DeFi community
Given the wide range of audiences - from industry veterans to newcomers - the potential for meaningful connections was immense. Meanwhile, the challenge was to facilitate effective networking that would cater to participants of varying experience levels in the rapid DeFi space. Importantly, many attendees readily knew one another from previous editions and from the local blockchain space, hence the goal was to create an environment where attendees could easily connect with new contacs based on shared interests and objectives. In this way, one can start ensuring that as many participants as possible could derive a maximum amount of networking value.
Thrilld booth experience Thrilld Labs proudly provided the networking solution to the Web3 Tales Conference, allowing attendees to connect before, during, and after the event. Thrilld Labs' CEO, Alexandra Overgaag, and her team staffed an eye-catching booth, offering live demonstrations and assisting attendees in navigating the app's features. They also actively welcomed attendees at the booth, which served as a meeting point where one encounter fresh matches as found on Thrilld. Thrilld's user-friendly interface and personalized matchmaking features indeed allowed participants to navigate the conference with ease. Beyond networking it also provided an event agenda, list of side events and various manners via which attendees could book meetings. The Thrilld information and exploring page on the app's dashboard also provided easily accessible and updated usage information and other resources. Attendees overall also benefited from the exclusive nature of the partnership - those that wanted could claim free premium features in the form of Super-Synergies and Push Packages to use the app ever-better.
Networking DeTangled
Web3 Tales 2024 successfully demonstrated how Thrilld’s platform could spur event networking. Attendees reported an interest not only in meeting people locally, but also in subsequently using Thrilld to connect with other Web3 professionals globally.
Indeed, Magda Milas, President of Alice in Blockchains, readily noted regarding the collaboration:
"Alice in Blockchains is all about education and networking, and Thrilld Labs fits perfectly with what we aim to achieve. Thrilld's user-friendly interface make it easy for our attendees to connect, share knowledge and collaborate [...]”
This collaboration showcased Thrilld for the first time in South-Eastern Europe. Ultimately, the app generated an onboarding rate of 29% of total attendees, which was modest but fair given that many people already knew one another and the event only lasted one day.
